Art Gives Back

Posted by The Editor Categories: Art News, PAA Shows No comments yet.

ART gives BACK

Dear Artist,

is your opportunity to help the city of Plano libraries in these tough times, as well as make a little bit of cash and raise your profile.

The Plano Art Association has partnered with the Plano library system to create a new community art exhibit to be displayed in all Plano libraries.

Sales of the artworks will be split between the artist and the library, who will use it to buy art books.

The Details

Click here to view the Art Gives Back online store.

The PAA has purchased fifty 4″ x 4″ canvasses, ready to be turned into beautiful small artworks that will be displayed in an exhibit that moves between the libraries in Plano.

They will be sold for $50 ($25 will go to the artist, and $25 to the Library), and will also feature on an online page, complete with a Purchase button, so everyone will be able to see the works and details of the artist.

This is a fun way to bring art further into the everyday lives of the community, and the free-standing, mobile “art cart” will be very eye-catching and beautiful.

We only have fifty slots available, so if you would like to take part please email us at planoartassoc@gmail.com with the subject line “I’m In!”.

You can then collect a canvas (we are asking for a $5 payment at the time you collect the canvas to help us cover the cost), and have your completed work available by the May 31st deadline.

The exhibit opens in early June, and we will have an inaugural event to celebrate the launch of the Art Gives Back program!

Interested? Email us at planoartassoc@gmail.com with the subject line “I’m in!” and we’ll mail you further instruction!

Thank you for caring for this precious public resource, and we look forward to seeing your artwork!

Warm regards,

The PAA’s Art Gives Back team:

Ruth Siddiqui, Katrine Kyhnel & Alison Jardine
